Annual Graduation Award Ceremony
Over the past few years, EOYGNY has awarded scholarships and celebrated Yoruba students across New York who successfully graduate to the next academic level. At its inception, our education program was received warmly and has grown exponentially since then. We aim to extend our education program to include remedial classes for students from all backgrounds who are sitting for various scholastic tests. In the near future, we plan on acquiring real estate property that would enable us to develop a facility in which we can extend the scope of our education mission. Within such a facility we can provide after-school programs and introduce exciting educational activities such as distance learning that will connect students in NY with students from other parts of the country and the world.

Annual Fund Raiser
EOYGNY has thrived on the modest contributions made by members through their annual dues. With these dues, we are able to support our Annual Graduation Award Ceremony, print our periodical - Akede publication, and host an Annual Dinner Gala. With the modest donations we've been able to raise, we have been able to attract new members, initiate new partnerships, honor notable figures in the Yoruba community, and share our collective experience with the world. We continue to strive to grow our organizations scope of functions and welcome new ideas, feedback on existing programs, and all the financial support we can get to accomplish our mission.

Akede Publication
Akede (Town Crier) is the in-house journal published by select members who are in the Media Committee. Through their collective skills, literary talent, and dedication, EOYGNY has been able to publish Akede periodically. Thus far, our publication has been released in print. With more people going on the internet to read the news, 2011 will mark the launching of Akede online. As our media committee endeavors into cyberspace, past publications will be archived online, our presence established on social media websites, valuable relationships developed to contribute to the promotion and growth of Akede. . In the near future, we envision Akede will evolve into a vehicle that will drive our mission to preserve Yoruba history to new frontiers.
